Chapters 13-15
Perspective: Dill
This whole week could have never been so hectic. My new daddy is nice and all, but my momma isn't with me no more. It's like he was extracting her from me, and she don't mind one bit. I decided to run away from them, and I knew they wouldn't miss me one bit. Yes, they bought all the toys and books and items I wanted, but it was only so that I would leave them alone. My new daddy also thought that boys like me should be out and about; instead of inside pestering their parents. So as I went all 300 miles from Meridian to Maycomb, and I knew exactly were I wanted to go; where the people would take me no matter what.
I knew my plan was infallible since my parents wouldn't be paying attention to me anyhow. I had obtained $13 from my momma's purse so that I could buy a ticket to Maycomb. It was fairly easy since the conducter was fairly accuanted to me. On my arrival I was exhausted and hadn't eated since the day before at my house. I knew that I had a while further to go, but I knew my way around, so it wouldn't take long. I arrived at the Finch's house and climbed into Scout's bedroom through the window. I didn't want Atticus to know about me, he might send me back. I could hear the clatter of dishes and bits of talk here and there. They were eating dinner and it was agonizing to sit there and wait.
I was preoccupied with the thoughts of food until I heard Scout enter her room. I had meant to emerge then, but she stepped on my hand. I didn't know what to do so I stayed and waited, that is until someone started hitting me with a broom. I came out to stop who ever it was, I realized my mistake as I looked into the eyes of Jem. Scout got me some corn bread to eat, which I happily scarfed down. Jem hollared for Atticus and I was scared for my life. To my up most amazment, he allowed me to stay. That is after a long talk with my momma and Auntie Rebecca. The day after Jem, Scout, and I were up to our old scheme and acts as if nothing happened. I knew I had chosen the right people to go to.

ReplyDeletealright, i really like how you come up with intresting titles for each blog post. it is origonaly and at the end i got to go "ahha that makes perfict sense. I also like how you covered a certain part of the reading and stuck to it.
I am sorry to say that it seems as if you took a step backward from last week. this blog post felt more like a summery and i think you could have gone into more details about dill and how he felt throughout the chapters. i know you can do this because you have done it before. keep up the good work,
