QUESTION 1:5. What was one of your favorite lines (or sentences) in what you read today? Copy it down and tell why you liked it. (It can be more than a sentence if you like, but not too long—you still need to write words of your own!)
RESPONSE 1: "I get it," Alec said tightly, "First Clary, then your hand, now me. To hell with you, Jace." "You don't believe me?" Jace asked. "Fine. Go ahead. Kiss me right now." Alec stared at him in horror. "Exactly. Despite my staggering good looks, you actually don't like me that way....

I like this quote because it goes to show that even if you lie to yourself over and over, then even when you get a perfect opportunity to do something you wont. I also like it because Alec just got a blast of the truth that he can't handle. He also learned that being gay, which in turn made him love a warlock, has a bunch of hindering factors in it.

QUESTION 2:15. Make up a motto that one of the characters seems to live by. How and why does this fit the character?

RESPONSE 2: Love only yourself, because in the end it will only bring you weakness

I think that Jace lives by this motto because he's so full of himself. He also previously said that his father told him that 'Love weakens, this bird was not tamed, it was broken.' He must believe that to love is to break, so he mustn't love at all. He also has feelings for Clary, and he realized that it has brought him many hardships that he hasn't been encountered with before. That just proves to him that loving someone is a big hazard.

BOOK CHOICE

City of glass by Cassandra Clare

I would love to read this book because I've read the other 2 books in the series and I really enjoyed them. I also think that it would be a challenge to read a big book in so little time. I also haven't had the chance to read it, so if I read it for class then that would be the perfect opportunity.
